Tell me about “IT.” 

The Incomprehensibility of the Unknown 
 

  • 1. Experienced in some manner directly through the 5 senses; or 
  • 2. Indirectly, by “IT’s” effects on him. Having directly sensed some phenomena or indirectly percieved it by it’s effect on him or his environment, man will hypothesize or draw conclusions based on his observations and experience and through experimentation will develop his understanding of a “thing” or phenomena. 

    However; 

    Without some exterior stimuli man has no basis to imagine from, no reason to investigate and no foundation to develop a thesis from. 

    A color never seen is inconcievable and incomprehensible to us since our idea of color is always based on that which we have percieved by our senses, in this case our sense of sight. 

    Can a blind man know or describe “Red?” “Red” has no feel or smell or sound. “Red” is always known by sight. What does the term “Blood Red” mean to a blind man? Even after telling a blind man what “Red” is and what it looks like (What does red look like?) he can not imagine it accurately because it has not been “revealed” to him. 

    Partial “Revelation”

      

     

    In the same way, the ancient civilizations indirectly percieved the “almightiness” of “God” by the effects of the forces beyond their control on their world, effects percieved by them as both beneficial and harmful i.e. earthquake or rain. Still they could not comprehend “God” as He is. (Eternally; Just, Merciful, Generous, Kind, Moral, Good, etc) though they may have had remnants of the oral traditions of their fathers passed down from the day’s of Noah changed over time since the multiplicity of languages had occured. 
    The gods of the pagan cultures shared in unlimited measure all the worst attributes of men, (unjust, capricious, immoral, greedy, viscious, petty, vengeful, vain, etc) 

    Until God once again revealed Himself to men there was no concept of His “perfection” or His “holiness”. 

    Initially as far as we know, He limited His revelation to the line of Seth until Noah. Through Noah and his sons the “knowledge of the Lord” was known to the “nations” until the nations rejected righteousness with the result that over time all accurate memory of the Creator faded into legendary mists. Then God chose Abraham and revealed Himself to Abraham who believed God who then promised to “bless all the peoples of the earth” through Abraham’s seed, ie Jesus Christ. 

    Until that advent, the person of and nature of God, (and then only partially) was revealed only to Abraham’s descendents through successive revelations-the law giver Moses, who was initially rejected by the Hebrew captives in Egypt, and the prophets. 

    The Greatness of God

    Anselm of Canterbury theorized that ” God is a being than which nothing greater can be conceived & therefore no one who understands what God is, can conceive that God does not exist.” 
    To develop that theorem further we can say that not only is God greater than that which can be concieved and greater than all that exists (the enormensity of which is to us factually inconcievable), we can also say that God is greater than that which does not exist since the reason that that which “does not exist” DOES NOT EXIST because God wills it to not exist. From this premise it then becomes even more clear a priori that God, being greater even than That which does not exist, is too great or transcendent to be comprehended by mankind’s limited experience, knowledge or imagination until and unless God reveals Himself. 

    As demonstrated above man is incapable of comprehending or imagining that which doesn’t exist within his frame of reference and which is completely outside of his experience since that which is foreign to his experience has no basis of being percieved within his finiteness. 

    God on the other hand, being outside of all existence, created all that did not exist . When He spoke, that which had never existed became the first of it’s kind. We cannot even fully comprehend the immensity of the material universe, whereas God not only created ex nihilo the non-existant but maintains that which He created by the force of His will through inviolable decree. 

    God and the Empericist

      

     

    The Empericist who stubbornly denies God is not interested in being convinced. In his rebellion he will insist on what only God can provide, reason will not suffice. While he cannot provide proof of evolution he will demand that God show Himself. The Cosmologist Carl Sagan and atheist theologians of the Jesus Seminar are examples of these and all I can say is that we are not required to convert every hard headed moron who refuses to engage with logic and sincerity in the search for truth. “He who hates instruction hates life.” 
    All rational men should love science, it is God’s laboratory. From this side of Eternity science is the discovery of the material universe, From the Eternal side of Time science is the tool of God in the specification and design of the material universe. 

    Quantum sub-atomic unpredictability

      

      

    The quantum theorists have found that predictability based on observation and measurement goes out the window at the sub-atomic level of the universe. To observe is to affect, to measure is to change and to predict is to be embarrassed. Nevertheless we know rationally that there must be a method to the madness or else the atomic level of matter would be so unstable the universe would dissolve into chaos. 
    God has designed the universe to operate according to His design which we call “laws”, i.e. the “law” of gravity, the “laws” of motion etc, and these laws on the atomic level being consistent and predictable are underpinned by the quantum level of sub-atomic existence in spite of “it’s” unpredictability. 

    Therefore it is not only possible, it is probable that the inexpressible number of unpredictable sub-atomic events which have occured in the past 6000 years could have and would have produced unexpected superventions of our predictable physical laws, i.e. what to us would be “super”-natural or miraculous events. 

    This reveals the fallacy of Rationalistic reasoning on “supernatural” events and means that even if the Rationalist refuses to aknowledge God, he must still acknowledge the possibility of “supernatural” events. 

      

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

 


 

Why Adam Could Sin & Jesus Could not;

 

A Thesis on the Peccability of Man in Opposition to the Impeccability of Christ.

One argument for why Christ must have been able to sin, is that since He was made in every respect like man (Hebrews 2:14-17), and since the “Perfect” man, Adam, who was created in an “Unfallen” condition was nevertheless able to sin, then Jesus must also have been able to choose to sin (even though He did not), as Adam did.

The answer is in the mutually exclusive characteristics of human mutability (trope) and Divine immutability (atropetos). When viewed from this perspective it is easily seen that Jesus as the “Word” of God, eternally pre-existant would also be eternally immutable or unchangeable.

Not physically unchangeable, since being born through the agency of a woman it was necessary that His “sarx” develop and change over time. His immutability would be His “Nature” His Divinity (Godness) i.e. His “self”, Him. “He” was and is immutable.

While Adam was formed in the image of God, he did not possess the ‘substance’ of God within himself, as Christ did. In other words man was created with his own nature, a nature of “createdness”, a unique nature in the “image of ” but different from God’s, since to be created, by it’s very nature precludes one from being “un-created” as God, (and Jesus as God) are.

Man cannot share in Jesus’ “un-createdness” being one of the created beings; created perfect, but with a different nature from his Creator. As such man has his own volition or attribute of mutability, and was able to choose his “own way” so to speak. He could change, he was (and is) mutable or changeable. Had man chosen to walk in unison with his Creator (as Jesus trains us to do when we yoke up to Him) all would have been well, instead, Adam and Eve chose to go their own way and do as they ‘willed’.

Jesus on the other hand, while taking on the physicality of mankind, always kept His “un-created” nature-a nature exactly the same as (homoousios) God ‘s. His was the “exact representation” and “express image” of God (Heb.1:3) which refers to His “Charakter” in Greek. As such He could only do as God would do being God Himself and since the definition of sin is doing “not” the will of God, i.e. not doing what God would do, Jesus could not sin.

An Introduction to Who Jesus Christ was

Daniel 9.25-26 

9:25 So know and understand: From the issuing of the command to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the anointed one, the prince arrives, there will be a period of seven weeks and sixty-two weeks. 

It (Jerusalem) will again be built, with plaza and moat ,but in distressful times. 

9:26 Now after the sixty-two weeks, the anointed one will be cut off and have nothing. 

This prophecy is remarkable in that it gives a definite start date, and ends with the advent of the anointed one, the Prince who is cut off (Crucified). This is the clearest messianic prophecy in scripture. When the timeline is traced, it arrives at the moment in history when Jesus Christ arrives on the scene in Jerusalem. 

The command to rebuild was issued in 454BC in the twentieth year of Artaxerxes rule. While Artaxerxes ascended to the throne in 465, his reign officially begins upon his ascension as Co-Regent with Xerxes his father in 474 BC. (474 BC – 20 years = 454 BC) 

In Prophetic language One week of years is 7 years i.e. each “Week” equals 7 years, thus 7 Weeks equals 49 Years. The period of sixty-two weeks of years equals; 62 X 7=434 years. 49 + 434 = 483 years; 454[BC] – 483 = -29 or 29AD 

This is the most unassailable prophecy in the Bible. In every way, from every direction it is without peer. Most evidence bears out Daniel as the author of the Book bearing his name, and we have other testimony to his historical presence in Babylon during this period from Ezekiel 14.14, 20 and 28.3. But no matter, the Prophecy is known to precede the advent of Jesus by several centuries and so could not have been a literary fabrication to support a myth. 


The Image of the Messiah 

Isa.53.3-5 

” He was despised and rejected by people, One who experienced pain and was acquainted with illness; people hid their face from Him, He was despised, and we considered Him insignificant. But He lifted up Our illnesses, He carried Our pain, even though we thought He was being punished, attacked by God, and afflicted for something He had done. 

He was wounded because of Our rebellious deeds, crushed because of Our sins; He endured punishment that made Us well, and because of His wounds We have been healed.”  

Matt. 27:28-31 

” And they stripped Him and put a scarlet robe around Him, and after braiding a crown of thorns they put it on His head. They put a staff in His right hand, and kneeling down before Him, they mocked Him. Hail, King of the Jews! They spat on Him and took the staff and repeatedly struck Him on the head. When they finished they stripped Him and put His own clothes back on and led Him out to be crucified.” 


One Proof of Who Jesus Christ Was is that He changed the world 

The commandment that we “Love our neighbors as we love ourselves” was not common knowledge before the Advent of Jesus. Even in Judea where this was one of the primary commandments as given to Moses and was a lynchpin of the Law it was badly misinterpreted as evidenced by the story Jesus told the Lawyer who was testing Him on the meaning of the law, (see luke 10:25-37). In this parabolic story Jesus illustrates just who our neighbors are and what love really is.  

Is there anyone who does not know the “Golden Rule” , to “do unto others as you want them to do to you” ? The fact that everyone in the Western hemisphere knows that is evidence of just Who Jesus Christ truly was as the transforming power of civilization. In the world where Rome ruled love was considered a weakness, might ruled, the Roman empire enforced it’s will by force of arms. Public spectacles of cruel tortures and executions were the past time entertainment of the day. But the appearing of the Son of God in the world conquered Rome and Rome’s cruelty by the power of transforming truth and transforming love. 


What the Bible say’s about Him 

JOHN 1:1-3 

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and 

The Word was God. (“What God was The Word was”. -NEB) 

The same was in the beginning with God.  

All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made. 

John 1:14 

And the Word was made flesh(1), and dwelt(2) among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. 

1. 4561 sarx = flesh (the soft substance of the living body, which covers the bones and is permeated with blood) of both man and beasts 

2. 4637 skenoo skay-no’-o = to fix one’s tabernacle, have one’s tabernacle, abide (or live) in a tabernacle (or tent), tabernacle

Here Christ is described as the “Man ‘out of’ Heaven” who brings life in contrast to  

Adam the “man ‘out of’’ earth” who brought death. 

Adam was made out of or from earth (ek),  while Christ was out of or from (Ex) Heaven. 

1 Timothy 2:5 

There is one God and one mediator between God and men, “Man” Christ Jesus. 

The article “the” is not in original manuscripts in identifying Christ Jesus as mediator. Instead of identifying Christ as one man among many He is identified as “Man Christ Jesus(Jesus the annointed one or Messiah)” an altogether unique Person. 

Luke 1:35 states; 

“The Holy Spirit will come upon you and the Power of the Most High will overshadow you so that that which is born Holy will be called ‘The Son of God’” 

Gal. 4:4 

But when the fullness (1) of time had come God sent forth His Son (2), born of a woman…” 

1. Fullness of time means “at the end of an appointed period of time”, in this case to complete and end the ‘economy or dispensation of the Law” and begin the Dispensation of Grace.  

2. “…sent forth His Son”, the Greek word is “Exapostello” and means “sent forth on a mission” from God to mankind. 

Phil. 2:6-11 Christ Jesus… 

Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God 

but made Himself of no reputation, and took upon the form of a servant and was made in the likeness of men: 

And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of [things] in heaven, and [things] in earth, and [things] under the earth; And [that] every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ [is] Lord, to the glory of God the Father. 

Col. 1:15-20 

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation, for all things in heaven and on earth were created by him – all things, whether visible or invisible, whether thrones or dominions, whether principalities or powers – all things were created through Him and for Him. 

He himself is before all things and all things are held together in him. He is the head of the body, the church, as well as the beginning, the firstborn from among the dead, so that he himself may become first in all things. For God was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in the Son and through Him to reconcile all things to himself by making peace through the blood of His cross – through Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven. 

Hebrews 1:1-4 

God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by [his] Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;  

Who being the brightness of [his] glory, and 1the express image1 of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.  

1. Express Image = Charakter and means exact representation. 

Hebrews 2:8-11 

You put all things under his control. ”For when he put all things under his control, he left nothing outside of his control. At present we do not yet see all things under his control, but we see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by God’s grace he would experience death on behalf of everyone. For it was fitting for him, for whom and through whom all things exist in bringing many sons to glory, to make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through sufferings.  

Hebrews 2:14-17  

For as much then as the children are partakers (1) of flesh (2) and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; 

And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. 

For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. 

Wherefore in all things it behoved (3) him to be like (4) unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

The Basic Elements of the Gospel

3) He was crucified according to His Fathers and our Gods express will, to pay our debt. 

4) He was raised on the third day, to ensure our Life. 

5) He was seen by many witnesses, and instructed His disciples to Proclaim the Good News. 

6) He ascended to Heaven and sent the Holy Spirit in order to establish and empower His Church. 

7) He will return 

8) This salvation is for all who Believe.

Take care lest there be some one who leads you away as prisoners by means of his philosophy and idle fancies, following human traditions and the world’s crude notions instead of following Christ.
Colossians 2:8-10

Homo-ousios or Homoi-ousios;
The Substance of God in Relation to the substance of Man”
Man was created “Homoi-ousios” (similar in nature) to God) while Jesus Christ was “Homo-ousios ( identical in nature) to God.
(Homo=same; Homoi= similar and ousios=Nature or substance)
This debate goes back to before 324 AD when it was addressed at Nicaea in response to the Arian heresy and continued until 451 when at Chalcedon the struggles over the official position and understanding of Christ’s duos nature was “finally” ‘defined’ in such a way as to be seemingly unassailable by the inclusion of both sides of the debate as to His humanity and His divinity. That is He is declared to be 100% of both without mixture or conflict.
I bring these and other elements of this debate together in the Thesis “Who & What was Jesus Christ” where I show that to say that Christ had to have a human spirit and human will in union with His divinity to qualify as Savior of man is to ignore the fact that a “Being” of that nature is as different from humanity as “Logos en-fleshed” and so is no more qualified in respect of His identification with humanity to be the ransom than the other. In Genesis, where it is stated that man was created in the image of God, there is a difficulty in translation due to the Hebrew idiom and verb tenses. The English translation has a tendency to interpret this in what sounds literally to mean that to be made in God’s Image is to be “like” God, or that before that “image” was marred by sin, to be an exact replication of the Creator. The Septuagint gives a better translation in that rather than “homo-ousios” or “same as” the word “homoi-ousios” (similar to) is used. Being created as the Homoi-ousios of God is to be created in His “likeness of being” which is to say similar to but not the “same as”. Our similarity is expressed in our volition and our being His representatives exercising just and kind, merciful and wise authority and dominion in the world.
If man had been created the “same” as God in his likeness to God, man would have been as “immutable” and “impeccable” as God and could not have sinned since sin is impossible for God.
Please note that I do not violate the Apostle John’s warning against those who deny that the Savior came in the flesh. I am only engaging the theological discussion as to what that actually meant as far as all the components of Christ’s substance or being in view of His Impeccability.

“THE EPISTLE TO THE HEBREWS” 

Christ’s Qualifications As High Priest (5:1-10)

INTRODUCTION 

1. A recurring theme in this epistle is that of Jesus as our High  

Priest; He has been described as: 

a. A “merciful and faithful High Priest” – He 2:17 

b. The “High Priest of our confession” – He 3:1 

c. A “great High Priest who has passed through the heavens” – He 4: 

14 

d. A High Priest who can “sympathize with our weaknesses” – He 4:15 

2. This is in keeping with the overall purpose of the epistle… 

a. Which is to show the superiority of Jesus and His new covenant 

b. We have considered Jesus’ superiority to… 

1) Prophets – He 1:1-3 

2) Angels – He 1:4-2:18 

3) Moses – He 3:1-6 

…it is only natural that a comparison to Aaron and his  

priesthood be made 

3. The actual comparison with Aaron will follow later, but first there 

is a need to… 

a. Review the qualities required in high priests 

b. Establish that Jesus does indeed qualify as a High Priest 

— Which is what we find in the text for our study today – He 5:1-10 

[For non-Jewish readers who may be unfamiliar with the role of high  

priests, this section of Scripture can be enlightening and increase our 

appreciation of Jesus as our High Priest. 

We begin by noticing…]  

I. THE QUALITIES REQUIRED IN HIGH PRIESTS (1-4) 

A. DIVINE APPOINTMENT (1,4) 

1. The work of the high priest involves “things pertaining to  

God” – cf. He 2:17 

2. He must “offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins” – cf. He  

8:3 

— Thus only God can rightfully select a high priest, even as God 

called Aaron – e.g., Exo 28,29; Lev 8,9; Num 16-18 

B. HUMAN SYMPATHY (1-3) 

1. A high priest is selected “from among men” 

2. This helps to ensure a spirit of “compassion”… 

a. Toward “those who are ignorant and going astray” 

1) Note that the high priest was to make a distinction  

between sins of ignorance and sins of presumption  

(rebellion) – Num 15:22-31 

2) Sacrifices were to be offered in behalf of the former,  

but not the latter 

b. For “he himself is often beset by weakness” 

1) A high priest who knew his own weakness would be more  

likely to be understanding of his brethren 

2) It also explains why the high priest in the OT offered  

sacrifices for his own sins, as well as for the sins of 

the people – cf. Lev 16:11 

— Thus a high priest would need to be well acquainted with the  

“human condition” (i.e., the struggle against temptation) 

[The parallel between high priests in the OT and Jesus as our High  

Priest does not hold true in every minute detail (e.g., He 7:26-27).  

But certainly in the most fundamental ways Jesus has the qualities to  

be our High Priest, as we now consider…] 

II. CHRIST’S QUALIFICATIONS AS HIGH PRIEST (5-8) 

A. DIVINELY APPOINTED (5,6) 

1. Christ was Divinely called to serve as High Priest, just as  

Aaron was 

2. As evidence of His calling, two Messianic prophecies are  

offered… 

a. His position as God’s Son – cf. Ps 2:7 

b. His appointment as a priest after the order of Melchizedek  

– cf. Ps 110:4 

— As God’s Son, sitting and ruling at the right hand of God 

(cf. Ps 110:1-3), His calling as a priest is only natural 

B. SYMPATHETIC BECAUSE OF HIS OWN SUFFERINGS (7,8) 

1. While “in the days of His flesh”, Christ… 

a. “offered prayers and supplications with vehement cries and 

tears” 

b. He prayed “to Him who was able to save Him from death” 

c. He was heard “because of His godly fear” 

2. That Jesus would have “godly fear” and offer such prayers  

provides insight into the extent of His temptations and  

sufferings in the flesh – cf. also He 2:18; 4:15 

3. Even though He was God’s Son, by the things which He suffered 

“He learned obedience” – what does this mean? 

a. Certainly He knew obedience as the Son of God 

b. Perhaps it means He came to know what obedience involved as 

one “in the flesh” (i.e., the challenge of obedience in the 

midst of suffering, temptations, etc.) 

— Through His suffering, Jesus certainly understands the “human  

condition” which qualifies Him to serve as High Priest 

[Qualified by virtue of His calling and His compassion to be a High  

Priest, what kind of High Priest is Jesus? The next two verses  

introduce two themes that will be developed much further later on…] 

III. CHRIST’S CALLING AS OUR HIGH PRIEST (9,10) 

A. “THE AUTHOR OF ETERNAL SALVATION” (9) 

1. “Perfected” by virtue of His sufferings “in the flesh”, He has 

become the “author” of eternal salvation 

a. The word “author” comes from aitio, meaning literally,  

“cause” 

b. Later, we will see how Christ is the “cause” of our  

salvation – cf. He 7:24-27 

2. But for now, note that He is the cause of salvation for “all  

those who obey Him” 

a. Is obedience necessary for salvation? Consider these  

verses: 

1) Jesus will bring vengeance on those who have not obeyed 

the gospel – 2 Th 1:7-9; cf. 1 Pe 4:17-18 

2) Paul sought to bring about the “obedience to the faith” 

among all the nations – Ro 1:5; 16:25-26 

a) But not all had obeyed the gospel – Ro 10:16 

b) Yet he was grateful for those who had – Ro 6:17,18 

3) Those who have obeyed the truth have purified their  

souls – 1 Pe 1:22 

b. If obedience is necessary for salvation, are we then saved 

by works? 

1) Not if by “works” you mean “meritorious works” (works by 

which we EARN salvation) 

2) But if you mean by “works” the “works of God” (works by 

which we RECEIVE God’s unmerited gift of salvation)  

which God has ordained, then yes! 

a) E.g., believing in Christ is a “work of God” – Jn 6: 

28-29 

b) Since repentance and baptism are likewise enjoined by 

God, they too would be “works of God” that we must  

obey in order to receive salvation – e.g., Ac 2:38; 

10:48 

— Thus salvation “by grace through faith” does not preclude  

the necessity of obedience to Christ and His gospel! 

B. “ACCORDING TO THE ORDER OF MELCHIZEDEK” (10) 

1. Here we begin to learn the distinct nature of Christ’s  

priesthood 

2. As prophesied in Psa 110:4, the Messiah would be “a priest 

forever according to the order of Melchizedek” 

3. Thus His priesthood would be different from the Aaronic or  

Levitical priesthood 

a. Different, but would it be superior? 

b. Would the difference be enough to persuade them not to  

forsake Christ? 

— The difference between the two priesthoods and the  

superiority of Christ’s over Aaron’s is taken up later in 

this epistle (cf. He 7:1-28) 

CONCLUSION 

1. The spiritual immaturity of the Hebrew readers will necessitate a  

temporary digression (cf. He 5:11-6:20) 

2. But for the moment, the author has established “Christ’s  

Qualifications As High Priest”… 

a. He was Divinely appointed 

b. He is sympathetic because of His own sufferings 

3. This makes Jesus suitable as the “author of eternal salvation” 

a. But don’t forget that He is the author of salvation “to all who 

obey Him” 

b. Have you rendered obedience to the gospel of Christ? – cf. Mk 16: 

15-16; Ac 2:36-39

Why Adam Could Sin & Jesus Could not;

A Thesis on the Peccability of Man in Opposition to the Impeccability of Christ.

One argument for why Christ must have been able to sin, is that since He was made in every respect like man (Hebrews 2:14-17), and since the “Perfect” man, Adam, who was created in an “Unfallen” condition was nevertheless able to sin, then Jesus must also have been able to choose to sin (even though He did not), as Adam did.

The answer is in the mutually exclusive characteristics of human mutability (trope) and Divine immutability (atropetos). When viewed from this perspective it is easily seen that Jesus as the “Word” of God, eternally pre-existant would also be eternally immutable or unchangeable.

Not physically unchangeable, since being born through the agency of a woman it was necessary that His “sarx” develop and change over time. His immutability would be His “Nature” His Divinity (Godness) i.e. His “self”, Him. “He” was and is immutable.

While Adam was formed in the image of God, he did not possess the ‘substance’ of God within himself, as Christ did. In other words man was created with his own nature, a nature of “createdness”, a unique nature in the “image of ” but different from God’s, since to be created, by it’s very nature precludes one from being “un-created” as God, (and Jesus as God) are.

Man cannot share in Jesus’ “un-createdness” being one of the created beings; created perfect, but with a different nature from his Creator. As such man has his own volition or attribute of mutability, and was able to choose his “own way” so to speak. He could change, he was (and is) mutable or changeable. Had man chosen to walk in unison with his Creator (as Jesus trains us to do when we yoke up to Him) all would have been well, instead, Adam and Eve chose to go their own way and do as they ‘willed’.

Jesus on the other hand, while taking on the physicality of mankind, always kept His “un-created” nature-a nature exactly the same as (homoousios) God ‘s. His was the “exact representation” and “express image” of God (Heb.1:3) which refers to His “Charakter” in Greek. As such He could only do as God would do being God Himself and since the definition of sin is doing “not” the will of God, i.e. not doing what God would do, Jesus could not sin.
